On June 9, 2025, at a special “A Day with the Legends” ceremony held in London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios, seven iconic figures were inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. The class of 2025 featured five menMahendra Singh Dhoni, Hashim Amla, Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, and Daniel Vettorias well as two women, Pakistan’s Sana Mir and England’s Sarah Taylor.

Among them, former India captain MS Dhonirenowned for securing India’s first T20 World Cup in 2007, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophywas lauded as the only captain to win all three major ICC white‑ball tournaments. South African stalwarts Amla and Smith were celebrated for their leadership and consistency, while Australian batsman Hayden and New Zealand all‑rounder Vettori earned recognition for their formidable careers . In the women’s category, Sana Mir became the first Pakistani woman inducted into the Hall of Fame; Mir, who led Pakistan in over 100 matches, called the honour “a moment I couldn’t have dared to imagine”. England’s wicket‑keeping maestro Sarah Taylor was also inducted for her exceptional contributions.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized that the selectioncarried out by Hall of Famers, executives, and mediacelebrated players “whose remarkable careers have shaped cricket's legacy”. The ceremony, held just before the World Test Championship Final at Lord’s, was broadcast worldwide, further accentuating the global reverence for cricket’s greatest figures.
